The Nam lab develops new high-performance surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) devices for diverse applications. We draw knowledge from physics, chemistry, materials science, engineering, and machine learning.

Our current research focuses on (i) designing novel SERS substrates based on nanofabrication and optical simulations, applications for (ii) food safety, (iii) environmental (water pollution) sensing, and (iv) cancer diagnostics.

We look for passionate and talented graduate students and postdoctoral researchers in the areas of nanoplasmonics and SERS.
